1 Cross references and notes

Each verse has a sheet with its notes and cross-references. Tap anywhere on a verse to open it: on its text or on its number. This works with one verse per line and in running text. Scrolling with a swipe does not open the sheet.

The verse sheet

What the sheet shows

  • The verse under its reference, since the dimmed page behind the sheet hides it.
  • Copy (the icon at the top right) copies the reference and the verse, for example "John 11:8 “Rabbi,” they replied…". Hold it to see what it does.
  • Notes: the verse's footnotes, by their letter. Greyed out when the verse has none.
  • Cross-references from the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (TSK), each with its text from the Bible you are reading. The first five show at once; Show all lists the rest.

Show all cross-references

Tap a cross-reference to go there. Back returns to the exact place you left.

A reference to a verse the open Bible does not have (some Bibles number verses differently) is shown greyed out.

Footnotes

A small raised letter in the text marks a footnote. Tap the letter to read the note in its own sheet. A reference inside a note (such as "see John 12:3") is shown with its text and can be tapped too. The letters are small: a tap next to one opens the verse sheet instead, which lists the verse's notes as well.

Without TSK

Cross-references need the TSK module. Without it, the cross-references row is greyed out, says why, and has an Install TSK button that installs it from CrossWire. Notes still work without it.
