      PKGWATCH_WORK_DIR that holds config, state or the repo (e.g. /).
    • source = "jetbrains-release": track JetBrains products (e.g. the
      Toolbox App, repo = "TBA") from JetBrains' releases API, verified
      against each download's .sha256 (tier 4).

      y/n to approve it; the old listing is pkgwatch review --list.
    • The timer runs the packaged /usr/bin/pkgwatch, not a local
      target/release build; install bootstraps from a release binary, so no
      Rust toolchain is needed. Existing installs: copy systemd/pkgwatch.service
      again, then systemctl --user daemon-reload.

      extra fields, for packages no generated shape fits (e.g. ollama).
    • tag_regex (GitHub sources): track only matching release tags, taking the
      version from its capture group — e.g. pin GraalVM to JDK 25.
    • * in asset_pattern matches any run of characters; it must match exactly
      one asset.

    • A check fetches each release's metadata once, not up to three times.
    • A GitHub API error other than 404 (e.g. rate limiting) fails the check
      instead of silently falling back to an older release.

    • Invalid install-shape settings (archive_binary_path, extra_binaries,
      env, names) are reported when the config loads, naming the package,
